Took me a few listens to understand what Drake was saying…
I’m not usually into music like this but this is one song I’ll randomly youtube.
I had a black silicone case for my Blackberry 9360 ever-since I started work. Then I realised that work was turning me into a dull person considering in college my tastes were… colourful. So I bought this hard case from eBay to make myself feel better! Feel like a little kid again getting cheap thrills from little rubbish like this… I actually love this.
Wooop I just adjusted my watch that I bought from River Island a couple weeks ago! I used a hammer, a drawing pin, a tub of vaseline and cellotape! That’s five pounds saved right there!
From al-‘Alaa ibn Ziyaad who said: A man asked ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas, saying: Which of the Believers is best in his Islaam? He replied: He from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe. He asked: Then what is the best Jihaad? He replied: He who strives against his own self and desires for Allaah. He asked: Then which of those who migrates (performs hijrah) is best? He replied: He who strives against his own self and desires for Allaah. He asked: Is it something you have said O ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, or Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa’sallam)? He said: Rather Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa’sallam) said it.

NOTES
So striving against ones own self is one of the highest and most valuable means of increasing ones eemaan and causing the servant to draw closer to his Lord, the One free of all imperfections. Concerning this He the Blessed and Most High says: “As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our Paths (i.e. Allaah’s Religion)” (Soorah al-Ankaboot (29):69 ). So a Muslim’s striving against his own self and his desires causes his spirit to rise higher, his eemaan to increase and his soul to become purified. Furthermore this striving crowns the Muslim with a very great crown worn in his life which is gentleness.
They all think I’m crazy but to me its perfect sense.
Shame on anyone who started to obsess over them after watcing The Voice UK.(which isn’t my cup of tea even with Danny as a judge)
Where did the word Paki come from?
Some of you wanted me to share this. A very polite adventuresofawimpygirl said: “Hi Mehreen. This is quite embarrassing but I recently learned that the term “paki” is offensive. I’ve heard many of my friends regard Pakistani’s as “paki” so I presumed…
Lol what makes me laugh is that during my time in secondary school, I had friends refer to themselves as ‘paki_queen’, ‘paki_princess’ or my favourite ‘paki_bitch’. I also had a Bengali friend who labeled herself as ‘bengali_bitch’ or ‘bangar_bitch’. (L O L) Its amazing how a label initially so derogative becomes a label to be proud of.
I suppose there’s different positive levels of this as this can highlight identity but right now, I find it pretty stupid and I am embarrassed that I didn’t say anything to my friends at the time.
This ipod case stopped doing its job a few months ago when it cracked on the corner making it loose fit. I can’t bring myself to buy a new one because my three year old niece personally customised it for me with her stickers.
The Kite Runner. I took this a while ago and refound this in my pictures folder. This is so profoundly written.
